Established in 1953 and recognized as a nonprofit of public utility, we operate with autonomy under the Ministry of Industry. (Agreement between the Foreign Operations Administration (FAO), agency of the Government of the United States of America & the Ministry of National Economy agency of the Government of Lebanon).
Our core focus lies in industrial research, scientific testing, and certification services.

Our mission is to support Lebanese industrialists and the national economy, we actively engage in partnerships with the European Community and contribute to Lebanon’s integration into the World Trade Organization (WTO).
With a strong commitment to quality, we are involved in various conformity assessment activities and hold memberships in esteemed international organizations.
IRI is entrusted by the Lebanese Government to conduct inspections and tests for specific imported goods. Additionally, we offer training and consultancy services for laboratory accreditation, both domestically and internationally.

Over the past three decades, I’ve had the honor of witnessing firsthand the remarkable ascent of the Lebanese Research Institute, the industrial sector, and its dynamic ecosystem.
In response to Lebanon’s inherent entrepreneurial spirit, support systems began emerging in the early 2000s with the aim of supporting industrialists and cultivating a pivotal hub catering to all industrial and business needs in Lebanon, IRI has evolved into a nurturing environment for the growth and expansion of the Lebanese industrial sector.
Since its inception, IRI’s model has demonstrated undeniable success, earning the trust and confidence of Lebanese, Europeans, and Americans alike due to our steadfast commitment to robust corporate governance principles.

Our technical staff plays an integral role in the development of Lebanese Standards at the Lebanese Standards Institution – LIBNOR.
